Veteran’s Assembly & Student Awards- November 23rd
At our most recent assembly, our Grizzlies had a unique and heartwarming opportunity to honor the veterans in our community. The atmosphere in the auditorium was filled with anticipation and pride as students, staff, and families gathered to pay tribute to those who have bravely served our country. We were privileged to invite the AFROTC cadets from the Mapleton School District, who graciously took the time to join us and share their knowledge with our students.
During the assembly, the cadets delivered an inspiring presentation about the significance of our national flag and the proper etiquette associated with it. They emphasized the values of respect and honor that our flag represents, illustrating how these values resonate not only in our national context but also within our school community.
Each of our students received a small flag to take home, allowing them to carry the spirit of gratitude into their families and communities. Additionally, in a touching moment that resonated with all present, our very own Principal Bohanan was presented with a flag dedicated to Grant Ranch School. This flag symbolizes not just our pride in our school community, but also our commitment to upholding the values we cherish, including respect for those who have served.
In conjunction with honoring our veterans, the assembly also featured a celebration of our remarkable Grizzlies who have exemplified our core values and demonstrated academic excellence this quarter. Teachers recognized students for their hard work, dedication, and positive contributions to the school environment.
This assembly was a truly special way to begin our Thanksgiving break, reminding us to reflect on the values of gratitude, respect, and community. As we celebrated the contributions of our veterans and recognized the accomplishments of our students, we also reinforced the importance of supporting one another and fostering a caring environment. We look forward to carrying this spirit of gratitude into the holiday season and continuing to work together as a strong school community. Thank you to all who participated in making this event meaningful, and thank you to our veterans for your dedication and sacrifice. We hope everyone enjoys a restful and fulfilling Thanksgiving break!
